What is Yoruba Wunmi?

Yoruba Wunmi is a Language and Culture Club which we have named YoW Club

It started as a Saturday language school for a group of children aged between 5 and 11 years old in Whetstone area of London, England.  Due to popular demand we decided to extend our range in order to reach as many children as possible far and wide.  We now have lessons recorded on video tapes and DVDs along with text books, workbooks, games, flash cards etc.

Members of YoW Club get the chance to actively participate in our quarterly magazine/news letter "Enleo", which they will receive at 10% discount on sale price.  Each member will be issued with an ID Card and Number, they will be invited to participate in recorded game shows and quizzes, and everyone of them will receive a personalised birthday card on their birthday.  Even though the suggested age range for the Club is 5-11 years we will be happy to accept slightly younger and older children to the club.

At the moment we have art and craft workshops like tie & dye (adire), talking drums, folk songs and story telling, dance and drama and we hope to add more as time goes on.  Our aim is to learn and grow together, hence this is a very interactive club with contributions welcomed from all members and their parents.
